Gravedona is located in a wonderful position, laid in a graceful and sunny gulf, that guarantees a mild climate during the winter and eased by constant breezes in summer.
The small village is characterized by narrow alleys, steep stairs, colourful houses one close to other, with portals and ancient facades; rich in churches and monuments, a trace of a rich past, Gravedona is surely one of pearls of lake Como.
For historical, artistic and religious reasons, it has always been considered one of the most important towns of the northern part of the Lake, and today Gravedona is a first-class touristic center. The town offers several possibilities of relaxing for the lovers of the water sports or for the lovers of tranquillity. There are different areas dedicated to the sport and the tourists, as the lido with two swimming pools, the sport center with tennis courts, the football field, the charming lakeside promenade that leads to Dongo.
The frame of mountians around the town is magnificent. The territory offers the possibility of a lot of walking tours in the Alps, or even mountain bike tracks, to discover the forests and the small lakes hidden on the mountains.
For those who want only to relax, the beaches, the lido or of the romantic walks on the lakeside will offer moments of peacefulness.
Gravedona offers also monuments and churches of great artistic value, among which Palazzo Gallio, built towards 1582 by will of the Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio, the evocative church of SantaMariadelTiglio, Romanesque building that keeps inside a precious wooden Crucifix dated to 12th century.
