The wild beauty of the nature and the suggestion of the narrow roads of the historical center of Anacapri have made this place a paradise for the tourists who visit it.
Anacapri offers its beauty to the visitors: from the splendid panorama of the Monte Solaro, to the picturesque sunsets on the sea, from the walks to discover history and art, to the thousand glares of the Blue Grotto…
For those who visit Anacapri, one of the places of interest is the beautiful church of San Michele Arcangelo, built between 1698 and 1719, and considered one of most important examples of Neapolitan architecture of the 18th century. The peculiarity of this church is its pavement: the floor tiles are painted and represent Adam and Eve driven out from the Garden of Eden. Different animals are represented, also a unicorn.
In the town there are also the church of Santa Sofia, dated back to 1510, and the church of Sant' Antonio, also knwon as Church of the Sailors.
Interesting is also the Casa Rossa (red house), one of the most distinctive buildings of the island, built between 1876 and 1899; today it is cultural center. Worthy of a visit is also Villa San Michele, not far from Anacapri, in panoramic position on the sea. The villa, wanted by Swedish doctor Axel Munthe, today is open to the public, that can visit it inside, where there are precious sculptures, and the garden, from which you can enjoy a wonderful sight on the gulf of Naples.
