Camaiore
|
Camaiore is a town of more than 30.000 inhabitants, that extends from the summits of the Alps Apuane until the Tyrrhenian sea.
Its territory is subdivided in four great areas (hills, the administrative centre, the plain of Capezzano and the shoreline of Lido di Camaiore), the town is encircled from wide valleys, mountains, hills, where there are old and pleasant villages from which a natural show of incredible beauty can be admired.
The town of Camaiore is constituted by 25 hamlets, set in every corner of the territory; Lido di Camaiore is the only hamlet that faces the sea, while the highest one is Gombitelli, with its 500 meters of altitude. Lido di Camaiore is a seaside resort to the vanguard that, for its particular characteristics, is considered among the most beautiful tourist localities of Europe. With a beach of more than four kilometers, with sand, Lido di Camaiore is, since the beginning of the XX century, one of the most famous holiday localities in Italy.
For those who want to visit the hinterland, the mountains are an infinite surprise, where you can spent a magnificent day, with valid routes, in order to find a healthy and serene vacation. In Capezzano Pianore, moreover, there is the Villa Borbone delle Pianore; the complex of the Villa is constituted of three buildings of various ages. The central body, the most ancient part of the villa (XVIII century), is a building of modest dimensions, fruit of the restructure of a flour mill. It was used as a villa by the duchess of Lucca Maria Teresa di Savoia, Carlo Lodovico di Borbone's wife. Beautiful is the park, with exotic and autochthonous plants.
